3. Vacuum twice a week.

4. Use entry mats.

5. Scrub spots immediately, then keep them moist until a professional can get to your house.

6. Rinse out rug shampoo vigilantly or more dirt will be attracted to the residual in the future.

7. You may want to try a dry, powder cleaner instead.

8. If you scrub with paper towels, make sure they're plain white, so they don't discolor your rug.
